Established in 1997, Maynooth University gained its university status, but its origins date back to 1795 when St Patrick’s College was established in Maynooth, County Kildare. It is situated approximately 25 kilometers west of Dublin. The campus has two parts, an old, historic south campus and a modern north campus. The university is relatively small, easy to get around, and intimately related to the town. Maynooth University has very strong courses in the arts, social sciences, science, computers, and business.
