Established in 1845 the university of Galway began its operation, named Queen’s College Galway. It officially admitted students on October 30, 1849, initially with a small population of 68 students. It is now one of Ireland’s popular universities. The campus of this university is quite huge, covering 260 acres, and lies along the River Corrib. It is close to the center of Galway City. There are more than 90 buildings on this campus. The oldest and most famous one is the classic-stone-structured Quadrangle. The University of Galway delivers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The University has five major colleges.

At the undergraduate level, one of the most popular courses offered is BSc Computer Science & IT. It requires four years for completion; however, the tuition fee for this course would be approximately €25,000 to €26,000 for every year of study. Then there is BComm for students of commerce. This requires three to four years for completion; however, the tuition fee would be around €17,500 to €19,000 for every year of study.  For postgraduate study options, MSc Data Analytics is considered a popular choice. This is a 1-year program and fees cost approximately €19,000- €22,000. In business-related courses, MSc International Management or Finance is usually favored by business graduates. This is also a 1-year program and fees range approximately around €18,000- €21,000. In the field of science, MSc Biotechnology is a much-admired program. This is again a 1-year program, and fees vary around €20,000- €24,000.

Undergraduate (UG)

• Class XII marks 75–85% or higher from CBSE, ISC, or state boards.

• Relevant subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, or Computer Science required as per course.

• English requirement: IELTS 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 88+ / PTE 61+.

• Course-specific subject rules apply (Maths for IT/Engineering, Science for Biomedical).

• Apply through CAO or the university application portal before deadlines.

Postgraduate (PG)

• Relevant 3–4 year bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.

• Minimum 60–70% marks or equivalent GPA.

• Strong background in subjects related to the chosen course.

• English requirement: IELTS 6.5–7.0 (course dependent) or equivalent TOEFL/PTE.

• Documents needed: transcripts, CV, SOP, 1–2 recommendation letters.
