About the Technical University of Berlin


Established on April 1st in 1879, The Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) with its origins dating back to 1770. It primarily resides in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district of Berlin and stretches over an incredibly vast area. It conducts over 150 programs of study in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Economics, Planning, and the Humanities. It includes programs like Industrial Engineering and Management, and many more. It also includes many Master's programs in English with a total international quota of around 27% and even tops the list of international colleges with 10 Nobel Laureates in its name. 

Technical University of Berlin Popular Programs, Duration & Fees

TU Berlin has various popular programs for master’s and bachelor’s students. For master’s, some popular courses include Computer Science, Industrial Engineering & Management, and Civil Systems Engineering, for which study periods are 2 years. The tuition is free but requires a semester fee for organizational and transport costs, ranging from €329 to €380. For bachelor’s degrees, namely Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, study periods are 3 years, and all subjects are taught in German, with similar semester fees. The study periods for MBA – Energy Management amount to 18-24 months and cost €19,800.

TU Berlin has very good employment prospects, with 88% of graduates being placed within six months after their graduation. According to the statistics, the major areas for TU Berlin graduates are IT/Software 28%, Engineering 25%, and Automotive. The average annual salary ranges from 48,000 to 60,000 Euros, and for the highest, it is 68,625 Euros. Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate Eligibility (TU Berlin)

  • CBSE/ICSE: 90%+ overall in Class 12 (PCM/PCB for STEM) + JEE Advanced or Studienkolleg pathway

  • IB: 32+ points (24 minimum), with HL in Maths + Natural Science

  • A-Levels: AAB–AAA including Maths/Physics

  • German C1 required for most programs (TestDaF 4x4 / DSH-2 / Goethe C1)

  • English UG programs: Rare; if offered, IELTS 6.5+ / TOEFL 90+


Postgraduate Eligibility (TU Berlin)

  • Relevant bachelor’s (3–4 years, related field.

  • GPA ~2.5 German equivalent (~75–80%)

  • English programs: IELTS 6.5+ / TOEFL 90+ iBT; German programs: C1
